Can my friend or family member drive the car?

Only if they fill out their own application, get approved, and receive their own fob.  Only authorized PhillyCarShare members are allowed to drive our cars.  Allowing anyone else (including a significant member, roommate, or family member) to drive leaves you open not only to a large fee and termination from PhillyCarShare, but also a large liability if anything were to happen while a driver we don’t insure is using our car.

What do I pay if I change or cancel my reservation?

Our cars get a lot of use, and we want members to be able to reserve a convenient car when they need it.  So if you make a reservation and decide at the last minute that you don’t need to use some or all of that time we’ve set aside for you, you’ll still be responsible for any reserved time from the point of cancelling (or shortening) your reservation through the next three hours, unless it’s booked by another member.

How does the daily rate work?

All members are able to reserve at special day rates: The daily rate is the maximum rate you will pay for up to a 24-hour period in a vehicle. The system defaults to the daily rate from the hourly rate– it happens when your hourly charges reach the daily amount.  You will still need to specify your start and end times, of course.
